For this extended engines project I was tasked with producing a polished game that closely resembles an industry standard product, while in keeping with the theme of ‘power’. The theme of power I interpreted as electrical power, as a result of which I created a top down, real-time strategy game, focused towards the directing of robots to specified charging locations. Additionally, I included multiple option settings, level themes and difficulties to make the game feel as complete as possible. Overall, this game turned out to be very fun and challenging to play.

A fleet of usually automated robots are returning home however they are all severely low on power and as a result their more advanced systems have been disabled, including their inter-robot communications and collision avoidance. It is therefore your job to safely coordinate the recharging and redeployment of every robot, without incident.

‘Robotics Charging Coordinator’ is a 3D strategic game, played from a top down perspective.  As the player you are tasked with directing a plethora of robots to their respective charging locations (specified by colour), while ensuring that the robots never collide with each other.  Once a robot has been charged it will exit the play area in a predetermined direction.  Robot type will be designated by scale, with their respective speed decreasing as the types increase in size.  A counter will display the value of remaining robots, which will decrease with every robot that the player successfully charges;  throughout the game the spawn rate of the robots will increase until the player is either overwhelmed or has managed to successfully charge every robot.
