I started the development of Refraction during the Covid-19 lockdown of 2020. My intention with this project was to create a type of game which would heavily lean into my speciality as a UE4 blueprint scripter, and which wouldn’t require much visual or audio development in order to work.

With 6 months of dedicated development in 2020, and a further 6 weeks in 2021, I was able to polish the mechanics of this game to almost industry standard. Additionally, this was the very first project in which I included dedicated campaign progression, tutorial levels and level creator.

In the distant future, you are the creator of quantum power transference technology, and have been called to a distant human settlement to try and improve their power infrastructure. Using various blocks, refract and manipulate beams of physical energy from their transmitters to relevant receivers. Additionally, the faster a circuit is rewired the more stable it is, so time is of the essence.

This current version of the game includes:

– 3 Tutorial Campaigns with a total of 21 Levels

– 3 Gameplay campaigns with a total of 7 levels

– Level Creator
